Indian extremist group announces head-money for PM Nawaz
NEW DELHI: Indian media’s frenzy seemed to cross all the limits on Thursday as a TV channel went on to air a statement from a hard-line Hindu organization that announced Rs10 million as head-money for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“We will give 1 crore rupees to him who will decapitate Nawaz Sharif,” a leader of Rashtriya Karanti Dal said.
Senior Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir said that Indian government intimidated local media to cover the press conference which was held by Rashtriya Karanti Dal, an ally of Modi government.
Tension between both the counties runs high after an alleged militant attack in Occupied Kashmir that killed over dozen Indian soldiers.
Meanwhile, the Indian government imposed a censorship on local media after New Delhi had to face embarrassment in the wake of Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Ranbir Singh claim that militants who stormed a military base in Occupied Kashmir used Pakistani weapons.
Media houses have been asked not to broadcast any news without a clearance from the ministry of defence.
